Let's get CRAFTY- Easter Egg

This segment is going to be one of my favorites. Not just because I love crafts, but because by the end of it I'm sure you will, too. Basically, I will show y'all a trend, or a cool painting pattern, and will give everyone the steps to do it themselves. Incorporated will be the submissions section, where you can submit any piece of art and I will choose one to feature every week in the submissions section. This can be a poem, short story, painting, craft, or anything related to arts and crafts! You can even submit one of the how-to's that I write! Make sure to submit things so I can choose a winner(TQC.blog@gmail.com)!

Today's art topic is painting Easter eggs!

Let's hop into it!

Painting Easter eggs

The first thing you will need to do is bring some eggs to a boil (I recommend boiling more than you think you will want to do, it is actually really relaxing and a lot of fun!). I did about 18 or 20.

Next, you need to start getting out the things you want to decorate the eggs with. I used chalk, nail polish, glitter, dye, and paint.

Then, just take some time to decorate! I will show you a few techniques, to help you get started.

Nail Polish Easter eggs

Simply take two or three of the desired colors, drizzle a few drops into a bowl of water, and then dip in and roll the egg in and out. Let dry for 30 minutes.

Dino eggs

For these cool, cracked eggs, fill a cup (disposable works well) halfway with water and add a few drops of dye (the more drops, the darker the water, the darker the egg) and add a cracked boiled egg. The egg should be completely submerged in the dyed water. Leave the egg in for about an hour or two. (The bigger the cracks, the more it will look like a dino egg). Pull out the egg and let dry for about 30 minutes.

Chalk eggs

These eggs are really smooth, super light in color, and very pastel-y and Easter-y. Absolutely no effort needed! All you do is take a white boiled egg and two or three of your favorite colors (I used indigo, blue, purple, and pink together). Color some chalk onto the egg (even if it comes out lightly DO NOT color it with force, the egg will crack!) and lightly rub in the color like you would with oil pastels. Continue until desired color is achieved.
