Coronavirus stinks acrostic poem by Anna
Cutting off my air at an awkward angle
Outside it is raining, it never stops
Reaching up to the stars but they are too far up
On top of the roof sits a bird teasing me with its song. I will
Never see my peers again.
Again and again i hear the whisper through the
Vail of scarcity, "make yourself a wish to
Inject into the sky,
Rush toward the rain, never stop,
Until you make it out."
Save yourself while you can.
Step out of the sun and into the moon
Tightly grasp what you can until it is gone
Intimacy is intimate and the pieces don't fit
Nicely.
Keep on keeping,
Stay, keep waiting.

My Beloved Dove acrostic Poem by Rachel
Meeting you as you flapped around on the ground
Your wing was deeply cut and you could not fly
But I loved you so I took you in and made a home for you
Every time I go out to my backyard, I see you huddled there
Looking at me out of your queer, red eye
Only your pain keeps me from grabbing you and squeezing you with love
Very small, frail, and quiet you are
Every time I think of you, I think of how joyous it will be when you can fly again
Dreading the day I will have to give you up.
Dreading the day I will have to let you go.
Over on the other side of the wood that separates us, you stare
Very intently at me.
Every part of me wants to comfort you and take away your pain. But I will only hurt you worse.
Pictures of my beloved dove, named Blaze for her bright red eyes.
